A software designer for Microsoft’s HoloLens augmented reality headset was killed in a hit-and-run collision last Saturday morning, Seattle-based news channel Kiro TV reports.

Mike Ey, 30, was rear-ended in his car by a driver going over 100 miles per hour on State Route 520 in Redmond, Washington. The driver, Robert Malsch, was seen fleeing the scene before being captured by Redmond police who used a dog to track him. Malsch has since been charged with vehicular homicide and felony hit and run. On Monday, a King County judge ordered Malsch to be held on $100,000 bail.

Ey, who was raised in New Jersey, graduated from the Rochester Institute of Technology before moving on to become a designer for Microsoft.
